Naruto Episodes

Author: Henry Hsieh
The popular Shonen Anime series, “Naruto” is based on the equally popular shonen manga with the same title that was written by Masashi Kishimoto. It is produced by Studio Pierrot and aired in several networks worldwide, including animax and TV Tokyo. The Anime started airing on October 3, 2002. However, as the manga went through a ‘time-skip’, so too did the anime. On February 8, 2007, part 1 of the series was officially concluded and was soon followed by part 2 which was called Naruto ‘Shippuden’ which started officially on February 15, 2007. The series is still ongoing up until now, airing a new episode almost every Thursday.

Naruto: Part 1

The first part of the anime series, Naruto, starts when the main characters are all 12-year old genins (Genin is the lowest rank for a ninja). Part 1 is composed of 9 seasons all in all. Part 1 starts with a brief explanation of the plot and the introduction of the main characters. It starts off light but becomes more serious towards the end of the first season where the group encounters strong enemies named Haku and Zabuza. It is here that the greatness of the series is elucidated because this is the part where Masashi Kishimoto’s prowess for blending humor with drama and action is first shown. After that comes the Chuunin exams, where more characters are introduced and many fights scenes are shown. The plot thickens in the heat of the Chuunin exams, however, as one of the series’ main antagonists, Orochimaru, is introduced. After which, some light is shed on the mysterious past of Uchiha Sasuke through the return of his brother, Uchiha Itachi, who is revealed to be Sasuke’s last living relative. Itachi’s return triggers a series of events that lead to Sasuke’s defection against Konoha which ultimately leads to his joining Orochimaru and become an antagonist himself. Kakashi’s Team 7 breaks up at this point, with Jiraiya taking Naruto in for training and Sakura asking Tsunade to train her too. Supposedly, this would introduce the start of Part 2. Unfortunately, by this time, the anime has caught up too much to the manga and had to show several filler episodes just to balance the time, much to the dismay of the fans.

Naruto: Part 2

The second part of Naruto is called Naruto Shippuden. Naruto and the crew are now two and a half years older. Shippuden starts with a teaser episode, showing a sneak preview of the fated reunion of Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke, a.k.a Team 7. The preview stops just before revealing a pivotal point in the plot and shifts to the true start of Shippuden which is Naruto’s return to Konoha after his training with Jiraiya. Shortly after the start comes the Rescue Gaara Arc which has the team battling Akatsuki. After which comes the formation of the new team Kakashi. The new team Kakashi then heads out in efforts to capture the spy or Kabuto. During this transition, they meet a surprising character which in many ways shocked the team. With new and improved abilities demonstrated both from the villains and good. The current Naruto Episode revolves around the team’s efforts to bring Sasuke back to Konoha.

What’s Hot for Kids Online?

Author: Ajay R (articlesubmit.net)
The internet knows no bounds and this applies to all users – adults and children alike. There are plenty of websites that are great for businesses or for adult use, but what about the offerings for kids? Just like toys, trends on the web change for kids, and what is hot now may be very different than what your child was playing just a few months ago.

Role Playing
One of the largest trends in online games is the huge number of role playing games. Children have the opportunity to plan scaled down versions of MMORPG classics like World of Warcraft and Star Wars. Kids develop a character and then take that character through a series of activities or missions. There are a large variety of these games for both girls and boys, with some overlap, but not much.

These games are actually rather good, assuming they are not playing anything too violent. The thinking and strategy involved in many of them is educational, and working with others in teams or guilds can help problem solving and build collaboration skills.

Coloring Pages
Coloring books are rather blasé. The way to color in 2007 is online. Websites such as The Doll Palace offer many coloring pages created from the dolls available on the website and that have been uploaded by other users. These coloring pages range from simple application of predetermined colors to a more complex color palette that allows your little artist to be as creative and detailed as she would like. Once the coloring pages are complete, they can be saved, shared or printed out to be proudly displayed on the refrigerator.

Anime
Anime is another popular internet offering. Anime style cartoons and the accompanying manga is gaining popularity with children at a very rapid pace. Unfortunately, anime and manga are not yet entirely mainstreamed on television or in the bookstore (although they are getting that way.) Kids who enjoy reading the Japanese style cartoons or watching the Japanese style artwork can find plenty online. Parents should help screen the series their child is reading or watching as both anime and manga are very mainstream in Japan – including with adult audiences.

Thinking Games
Games that involve no thought just shooting or the like still exist online, but kids of today appreciate a greater challenge. Games that involve thinking through problems or even math and science are becoming more popular. Creating roller coasters or complex lines that animated characters can ride are growing in popularity and the greater the challenge, the more the child is learning from their choice of entertainment.

With all things online, it is important for parents to sit down with their child to see what sort of websites they prefer to visit. While there may be questionable content on the internet, the online world as a whole is not a dangerous place. Just like anything else, parents must give their children the right amount of guidance and instruction to allow them room to grow and learn while keeping them safe.

Dragon Ball Movie Is Now Busting Out The Box Office

Author: Dror Klar
Fans of the hit anime Dragon Ball will soon get their long held wish courtesy of 20th Century Fox and if it goes off without a hitch, it will be in theaters around the beginning of summer 2008. What are we talking about?

A live action, English movie based off of the hit manga and anime series that has swept Japan and the United States since the 1980's when it was first developed by Akira Toriyama. The series has spawned two additional TV shows since its debut, including Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT, and numerous card and video games.

Up and coming actor Justin Chatwin, who appeared in War of the World, will end up getting to play Son Goku and the villain of the series will be played by James Marsters, who appears as Spike from the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The movie will follow the story of the alien Goku who, like so many superpowered beings these days, it seems, gets sent to the Earth to take it over. Like Superman, he changes his mind once he discovers what his species intent for him was and decides that he will not only live on the planet as a normal person, but also protect it from other aliens who seek to take it over.

When the series debuted in Japan as a manga, it was mainly seen as a comedy/fantasy series, since the first 134 chapters of the series were filled with all kinds of humor, even if some of it would be considered a little crude for American child audiences, such as humor involving women's panties.

When it was released into the United States, some name changes were in order, since the name of one character was Mr.Satan and since it was seen as a children's series, it was changed to Hercules. Alcohol, sexual innuendoes, and drugs were also edited out of the series.

All in all, we are not sure what to expect from a live action Dragon Ball movie in the United States. It is known that children and adults alike will flock to see the movie, but the content of the film, other than a very likely PG-13 rating, is currently unknown.

It is not likely to be as censored as the Dragon Ball manga was when it was released in the United States, but in order to keep its roots intact, there is likely to be a fair amount of objectionable content that some parents may not want their smaller children to see.

Naruto as an Anime

Author: Engr. Philip Solomon Cahayag

Naruto is an anime and manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto centered around a loud, hyperactive, young ninja who is in a constant search for both approval and recognition, and with a great aspiration to become Hokage. First published as a manga series in Japan by Shueisha in the 43rd issue of Shonen Jump magazine in November 1999, the Naruto series has risen in popularity exponentially and has since been licensed in the USA (becoming VIZ Media's top selling title) and nearly two dozen other countries, with the anime series currently airing in 18 countries.

Twelve years before the start of the series, a Kyuubi (nine-tailed fox demon) attacked the Hidden Leaf Village. A swing of one of it's mighty tails could raise tsunamis and flatten mountains, chaos reigned throughout the village as it killed many people, until the leader of the Leaf, the Fourth Hokage, defeated it by sacrificing his own life to seal the demon inside a new born child, that child is Uzumaki Naruto. The Fourth Hokage would forever be celebrated as a hero for sealing the Kyuubi and saving the entire village. It was his wish that Naruto would also be respected in the same way he would be, however, this was not the case. Everybody in the village avoided Naruto, regarding him as nothing more than the evil demon fox. The Third Hokage made it a rule within the village that other villagers were forbidden from mentioning this event to anyone, even their own children, however because of the way their parents treated Naruto, they mistreated him as well throughout most of his childhood.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots - Technology and Plot Holes?

Author: IC
A battlefield you can find anywhere, anytime / No place to hide - this is how Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) is described. Hideo Kojima, Shujo Murata and Yoji Shinkawa are the producers, directors and writers of the game. If you have read mecha mangas or seen futuristic anime series such as: Ghost in the Shell, GANTZ, Saikano, Gundam Seed, Evangelion or Code Geass you will definitively be able to correlate those series to this game. MGS4 fuses several elements in this futuristic war game, artificial intelligence, self-aware combat units much like the Tachikomas of GITS and machines which combined look a lot like the final form of Chise in Saikano (The beauty and the beast unit)

Metal Gear Solid 4 is unlike any other war game you have played until now, it stands alone because the concept has only been seen in Japanese animations and not in video games. Half-Life 2 is the only game which has some similitudes to this game because it is also pretty futuristic, but in MGS4 the player must face several commandos with the aid of other AI combat units.

The main character of the game "Old Snake" a genetically engineered soldier is sent to the Middle East by Roy Campbell in order to terminate Liquid Ocelot, a man who operates Outer Heaven which at the same time controls the five largest private military companies (PCMs) that fight wars for business purposes. As you see the plot is quite complex as there are several proxies which control organizations and combat units, so it may be natural to feel a bit disoriented as far as knowing what's going on in the game. Some gamers argue that there might be some plot holes as far as knowing who has stronger dominant genes, Ocelot, Solidus or Snake.

The technology used by Old Snake has been improved from previous versions and incorporates elements seen in Ghost in the Shell such as optical camouflage called "octocamo" which allows the player to blend with any surface, a new "solid eye" replaces the binoculars which were used in previous versions and provide greater details of the terrain and enemy. High-tech devices and war is what this game is all about so you will see a lot of items which may look familiar if you are a manga/anime fan.

Those players who are new to this game will not be lost since MGS4 provides a recap of the events that happened in previous versions of the game which hold crucial information in order to understand what's going on, the recap includes scenes from Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 3. MGS4 is a game which has carved a niche of its own when it comes to futuristic wars.

Choosing a Gift Book for a Child

Author: Celia Webb
Books make wonderful gifts, but it can be hard to select the right book. As publishers of children’s books, we are often asked for advice on selecting a book for a birthday or holiday gift. Here are suggestions about how to select the perfect book to give to your niece, nephew, friend’s child, or grandchild.

1. Knowing age and gender does help. Now we know you may not remember exactly how old the child was at their last birthday, but being in the ballpark is useful. If the child is preschool age, you will choose different material than if they are in high school. Also, if you don’t see the child often enough to know about their interests, knowing whether you are choosing a book for a boy or girl can help define what type of book will be welcome.

2. Talk with the child’s parents. Ask about the child’s current interests, activities, or hobbies. Books related to what a child is doing make great gifts. You can find books specifically about the topic or books which incorporate the topic as part of a story. For instance, if the child is fascinated by snakes, you could choose a scientifically–oriented book with pictures and information about snakes or you could choose a story book featuring a snake.

3. Be sensitive to family values. Make your gift a happy addition to the family rather than a bone of contention. The most common issue is religious content. Most parents we talk to do not want books for their children which press any particular religious point of view. We have heard this from people of all faith backgrounds. Other content on which you would want to understand the parents’ position, or simply avoid, include level of violence, sexual content, and sexual orientation. These all tend to be areas which require a certain level of maturity to deal with and parents will know best whether their child is ready to deal with content like this.

4. If you have no clue, there are some topic areas that most children enjoy. Humor, fairy tales, and animal stories have broad appeal. Our experience indicates that Japanese manga (comic books) are very popular in urban areas of the US right now, but not nearly as welcome in rural areas. Manga varies wildly in content from “great for kids” to “strictly for adults”. Pay attention to what you select.

5. Ask for help. Bookstores often have a bookseller who manages the children’s book collection. This person is a valuable resource about the most popular books. They also will often know what choices might work for your situation. Having followed the tips above, you should be able to provide the bookseller with enough information for them to come up with several recommendations. Librarians are another good resource.

6. “Tweeners” are a challenge. There are lots of books for young children and lots of books for adults, but the in-between years of 10 to 15 years old can present something of a challenge. The books for young children are too childish for these budding adults, but the books for adults tend to have strong thematic elements which aren’t appropriate to this age. Our best advice for this group is to buy classics. Authors like Robert Louis Stevenson, Jane Austen, or Mark Twain, the Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boy series are all good possibilities. Writers from previous eras presented material differently.

Using these suggestions, you’ll find great books to give to the children on your gift list.

Anime Video Downloads – Free or Paid?

Author: Davion W
Anime video downloads for Japanese cartoons like Naruto, Evangelion, Sailor Moon, Doraemon are much sought after by manga and cartoon fans. While these are normally screened in Japan over TV, the teens and even young adults around the world are getting fascinated with these anime series. Since they are not able to watch them via TV broadcasts, they are buying up anime VCDs and DVDs. With anime video downloads made available nowadays either for free or for a fee, here is a quick discussion on both free and paid options.

Free Services to Download Anime Videos

Fans have been downloading free videos for a while now at P2P networks. It is not totally problem free of course. Users have complained about the videos being incomplete with scenes cut and viruses, spyware and adware are often downloaded together with the video files. The performance of their PCs goes down as a result.

On top of P2P networks, you can also find anime videos at fan sites. They are not exactly free as we would soon realize. Similar to peer-to-peer, your videos may have missing or skipped episodes. Tell me which fan likes to watch an incomplete cartoon series where all the major scenes like showdowns are taken away. Fansub sites are also prone to the same problems at P2P when downloading anime videos.

Anime Video Downloads Membership Services

Registered members can now download not only anime videos but movies also at membership services. We are talking about dozens of DVD quality videos you can have access to. Transfer them to a DVD or CD and you can play it on both your PC and TV. Typically, such services do not cost more than $39.99 and it is a one off deal to download unlimited anime movies and videos. There are no bandwidth restrictions at all.

Like what we mentioned earlier, you can download anime videos and movies in full complete series and seasons. Even movies adapted from manga and anime like Death Note are available to members. No wonder it has gotten cartoon enthusiasts all over the world getting excited.

You can start to watch Death Note, or catch Bleach in a moment’s time when you download the full length DVD quality anime video downloads at my video blog.

A Look at the Ways That Japanese Animators and Storytellers Use Japanese Cartoon Art

Author: Muna wa Wanjiru
Japanese cartoon art can provide people with an insight into the culture of Japan. You will see these cartoon arts in many different places. These places will range from venues like cartoons on the television to that of the DVD game credits. In each of these Japanese cartoon art pictures you will find the heart of people looking out at you.

The best place for you to see different aspects of Japanese cartoon art is in the various Manga comics. Here you can see the beauty that is part of the comic story. While the colors are part of what makes these art pictures look so alive, it is the depth of feelings which can be seen with the facial expressions, the arm movements and the way that the entire body looks that brings these cartoons alive.

Another way that Japanese cartoon art has a more lifelike look is by the way the colors are used to denote emotions. For instance you will find that anger is shown by a red face and cheeks that seem to be bursting out. The other items which you will see to provide emotional response in Japanese cartoon art is the way the eyes are portrayed.

Unlike other cartoon art the eyes of the various Japanese cartoon art forms are detailed to show the different emotions that are a part of living. While seeing these details are a good way to feel the depth and range of emotions there are many other things which are going on behind these main characters.

In order to really understand the beauty of Japanese cartoon art you should look at one of the anime or manga desktop drawings. Here you will see the vibrant colors or subtle shadings of black and white pictures. Sometimes there will be one than one picture found on the desktop picture.

You will also see how the colors that are used in the Japanese cartoon art blend together. Since these are reasons why you can see movement in otherwise still drawings this may explain why people love watching and reading comics and anime shows that show lots of great Japanese cartoon art.

As you look at the ways that Japanese animators and storytellers use Japanese cartoon art you will be able to appreciate the subtle lines that show the tale. In each of these art forms you will see how far these Japanese cartoon art can take animation to the next level.

NAruto Review
In this volume of Naruto, the second portion of the chunnin exam just started. This exam is being held in the Forest of Death, and the instructor Mitarshi Anko has promised to cut the number of called Orochimaru that is known for his evil forbidden ninja abilities and he's in the chunnin exam! Orochimaru wants something from Sasuke. But when the guards heard that Orochimaru was in the exam, they quickly sent out maximum security in the Forest of the advancing teams by half! Each of the teams are now turned against each other and they must use there fast cunning ninja techniques to collect the necessary scrolls from the other teams to past the test and to survive the many challenges that the forest brings to these young ninjas. It's a matter of life and death in the second chunnin exam. Some teams may come out alive and victorious, while the other teams may end up dead. And if that's not enough, there's an imposter Death to find this Orochimaru. Too bad it was already to late, Orochimaru found Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura, but he mainly just wanted Sasuke. Orochimaru was destroying the three of them, only Sakura was barely standing. The instructor, Anko tried coming in to save the three of them. But Orochimaru was too strong and Anko was useless as well. Luckily, Orochimaru fled from them and Sakura had to find a place for them to rest. But when Orochimaru's minions heard that Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura were weak, they were told to take finish them off. So they went off to find the three of them. When Naruto's friends who are also in the chunnin exam heard of this, they went off to find Naurto, Sasuke, and Sakura as soon as possible. Luckily they made it right on time. In total, two teams were there to help them. But one team were all cowards so they just watched. When Orochimaru's minions were there, they were outnumbered. But to them numbers didn't count, it was just how strong they were that counted and they were definitely stronger. So even with two teams against them, Orochimaru's minions still defeated them. That is where the story stands, but there is still a surprise from the evil minions. Nobody knows...

I thought this book was very interesting. This book had a great flow in the story and it wasn't boring like some books. It had lots of action in the story and I thought the plot was very interesting. I liked the way that they're in a world of ninjas and they are all in this gigantic examination to be the ultimate ninja or something like that. Something that also fascinated me was the artwork of the graphic novel. It was very realistic in an anime way. People who enjoy reading action or adventure books should trying reading this book because there's a lot of action and adventure going on in this book. Also, people who enjoy reading comic books should try reading this book. The drawings in there are very well drawn. This is a quote from Orochimaru " I'm Orochimaru the giant snake. If you'd ever like a rematch...".

You go girl!
Well Orochimaru K.O.ed Sasuke and Naruto,so it is up to her to protect them.Hey,Lee and Ino's team can to save the day!But the real savior is Sasuke?

Marc Antoine Hi-lo Split Jazz Music CD Review

Author: Clyde Lee Dennis
I can describe the latest release from Jazz sensation Marc Antoine for you with just one word… Outstanding!

I wish it weren’t the case but, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Hi-Lo Split. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

The nice thing about a CD like this is when the talent is this rich even if Jazz isn’t your favorite genre you still can’t help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.

I’m of the opinion that Hi-Lo Split is certainly Marc Antoine’s best work in a few years. A totally enjoyable CD and an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up because it’s a collection that even the casual Jazz fan can appreciate and enjoy.

While this entire album is outstanding some of my favorites are track 4 - Silk and Steel, track 10 - Voodoo Doll, and track 11 - Tomorrow

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - For A Smile. Good stuff!
